Shopping & Services
With over 20 retail outlets in the undercover Brewers Quay complex and a number of individual shops along the harbourside, there are plenty of shopping opportunities to keep even the most dedicated shopaholic happy.
Shopping around Weymouth harbour is a pleasure. This part of town offers a relaxing environment in which to browse at your leisure, and as some of the town's most interesting shops are situated here it's the ideal place to head for when looking for that exclusive gift or unusual home accessory.
Naturally, there are plenty of outlets that cater for those with an interest in water-related sports. Boat owners have the benefit of an excellent chandlers in Hope Street; everything needed for a spot of fishing can be found in the tackle shop close to the Town Bridge; and sport divers can top up their air bottles at the dive centre near the lifeboat station.
But the harbour shops also serve the local community: everyday items such as a newspaper and a pint of milk are available from the Harbour Store and the village shop in Brewers Quay sells cheeses, pies, jams and specialist ales.
Just like the rest of the town the harbour area is naturally busier during the summer months, but with so many individual shops it's become a favourite shopping centre for locals too. |
